João Pena

João Pena has a strong background in M&A and business development. João is currently working as the M&A and Business Development Director at Grupo Energisa since July 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Head of M&A at Grupo Boticário from February 2022 to July 2023. Before joining Grupo Boticário, João worked at Grupo Oncoclinicas as the M&A and Business Development Executive Manager from May 2021 to February 2022, and as the M&A and Business Development Manager from December 2018 to May 2021. João also gained experience as the M&A and Expansion Manager at SOMOS Educação from March 2017 to December 2018. Earlier in their career, João held roles at Captalys, Integral Investimentos, and Planner Corretora de Valores, where they focused on investments, structured finance, and financial planning and analysis.

João Pena obtained a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science from the School of Economics, Business and Accounting at the University of São Paulo in 2011. Later, in 2013, they pursued a Master's degree in Financial Economics at FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas, which they completed in 2014.
