Ignacio Aguirre Duran

Ignacio Aguirre Duran has extensive experience in the fields of public-private partnerships (PPPs), infrastructure, and concessions. Ignacio is currently working as the Head of PPP Business at Grupo Puentes, where they manage the search, selection, and analysis of opportunities within the PPP sector. In addition, they are responsible for the management of current PPP assets and the development of private initiatives and growth strategies in different geographic markets.

Prior to their current role, Ignacio worked as an Independent Consultant specializing in PPPs, infrastructure, and facilities in the healthcare sector. In this capacity, they provided national and international consultancy services for tenders, project management, and mergers and acquisitions processes. Ignacio also focused on expansion strategies, market entry into new sectors and geographic markets, and worked with various stakeholders such as public agencies, multilateral entities, concessionaires, construction companies, investment funds, and equipment and services companies.

Ignacio has also served as the General Manager of Sociedad Concesionaria Red Maule, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for a PPP contract. Ignacio was responsible for managing the concession contract for the design, financing, construction, provision of medical equipment, and operation of three hospitals. Ignacio successfully developed the SPV team and reported directly to the Board of Directors.

Earlier in their career, Ignacio held positions at Firmum Capital as a Business Development Manager, where they focused on expanding business opportunities, and at Sacyr Concesiones (Grupo Sacyr) where they served as the Business Development Director. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the development of concession projects both in Spain and internationally, including healthcare projects and other infrastructures. Ignacio played a key role in expanding the company's presence in countries such as Chile, Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Uruguay, Brazil, and Paraguay, among others.

Ignacio also gained experience at Grupo San José as the Director of Hospitals, Special Projects, and Concessions. Ignacio was responsible for managing projects with local, regional, and national administrations, as well as overseeing the development and bidding department.

Before their roles in the PPP and infrastructure sectors, Ignacio worked as the Accounting Finance Manager at Construcciones Moguerza and gained experience in finance and accounting. Throughout their career, Ignacio has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the PPP and infrastructure industry.

Ignacio Aguirre Duran earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an expertise in Financial Management, from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid between 1996 and 2001. Ignacio then pursued a Master's degree in Concessions, Infrastructures, Equipment, and Services at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from 2010 to 2011. In addition, Aguirre Duran completed an MBA program at the IE Business School in 2002.
