Arup Bhattacharya

CTO and Co-Founder at GRYPHON

Arup Bhattacharya has been working in the technology industry since 1984. Arup began their career as a Senior Space Scientist at the ISRO Satellite Centre. In 1987, they joined American Megatrends Inc. as a Senior Principal Software Engineer. During their time there, they led software efforts for AMI Notebook PC BIOS and spurred $5M+ in annual sales revenue. In 2000, they were promoted to VP Engineering at PortalPlayer, Inc. where they were assigned to lead a high-caliber technical team to define and develop the Vista Sideshow based Preface platform. In 2007, they joined NVIDIA as a Senior Director of Mobile Software and Site Leader. Arup coordinated and managed software design and development for ARM-11 (MP core) based mobile application processor (TEGRA). In 2010, they joined Novatel Wireless as Senior Director of Software, MiFi, and M2M/IoT. Arup led a global software organization to develop 2G/3G/LTE data products. Finally, in 2016, they became the CTO and Co-Founder of Gryphon Online Safety, Inc. where they created the Gryphon Mesh WiFi Router to protect every family.

Arup Bhattacharya has an extensive education history. Arup attended the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur from 1982 to 1984, where they obtained an M.Tech in Control and Automation. Arup then attended IIEST, Shibpur from 1978 to 1982, where they obtained a B.E. in Electronics and Communications Engineering. In 2011, they completed an Executive Education program at UC San Diego, earning an Executive Perspective for Scientists & Engineers (EPSE) certificate.
