Christopher Michael

Christopher Michael currently serves as the US editor at The Guardian, a position held since February 2020, and is also the creator and host of the podcast series Reverberate, nominated for the International Music Journalism Award for Best Work of Audio Journalism. Michael has significant experience in international news as a commissioning editor, specializing in international coverage and special series. Previously, Michael was the editor of Guardian Cities from 2014 to 2020, managing a team to produce digital-first content about urban issues. Earlier career highlights include serving as features journalist at The Guardian, desk editor for the International New York Times in collaboration with Asahi Shimbun, and co-founding Trucker Magazine. Michael holds a Master's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from McGill University.
