Joseph Harker is the Senior Executive of Diversity & Development at Guardian Media Group. Joseph has over 25 years of experience working in the media industry, with a focus on diversity and inclusion. Joseph launched and edited the Black Briton newspaper in 1991, which was a weekly tabloid newspaper that targeted the UK African-Caribbean population. Joseph also worked as the Assistant Editor of The Voice Newspaper from 1989 to 1991, where they were responsible for news and feature pages, leader writing, and long term planning. In addition to their work in the media industry, Joseph has also been involved in student politics. Joseph served as the President of the University of Nottingham Students' Union from 1986 to 1987.

Joseph Harker studied chemical engineering at the University of Nottingham and Hymers College, Hull.
