Martin Belam

Martin Belam is a seasoned professional in digital journalism and UX design, currently serving as a Senior Social Reporter at The Guardian since February 2016, where responsibilities include live blogging major events such as the Ukraine war and training staff in live blogging techniques. Prior to this, Martin held various roles, including Social & New Formats Editor at Emblem Digital and Editor of New Formats at Trinity Mirror, contributing to innovative projects that enhanced the online presence of major media organizations. With a strong background in UX design, Martin has worked with The Guardian and the BBC in key positions, driving user-centered design initiatives and improving digital interfaces. Martin also possesses experience as a contributing editor for FUMSI Magazine and has worked as an independent consultant for numerous prestigious clients in the digital space. Academic qualifications include a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Leeds.
