Rory Carroll is an experienced journalist with a career spanning over two decades at major news organizations. Since July 2006, Rory Carroll has served as the Ireland correspondent for The Guardian, covering various regions including the western United States and the Mexican border since March 2012. Previously, Rory Carroll held the position of Latin America Bureau Chief based in Caracas, overseeing coverage across Central and South America and the Caribbean. Before joining The Guardian, Rory Carroll was the Iraq Bureau Chief and Africa Bureau Chief, working from Johannesburg to cover west, central, and southern Africa. Additional roles include serving as Southern Europe Correspondent in Rome and as a news reporter at The Guardian's headquarters. Prior experience includes a position as a documentary researcher at Channel 4 and as a reporter for The Irish News. Rory Carroll holds a Master's degree in Journalism from Dublin City University and a Bachelor's degree in Politics and Economics from Trinity College Dublin.
