Meri-Tuuli Laaksonen has had a varied career in the fields of physical education and physiotherapy. Meri-Tuuli has been working since 2009, when they began as a physiotherapist at Apex Fysioterapia (Turun Ortopedinen kuntotalo Apex Oy). In 2012, they moved to Töölö Hospital as a physiotherapist. In 2014, they began working as a physical education teacher at Varia Vocational College and Kinapori Service Center. From 2015 to 2016, they were a physical education teacher at Keskuspuiston ammattiopisto and Varia Vocational College. In 2016, they became a teacher of physiotherapy and rehabilitation at Omnia, Espoon seudun koulutuskuntayhtymä. Most recently, they have been a co-founder of Gubbe since 2018.

Meri-Tuuli Laaksonen obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy from Turku University of Applied Sciences from 2005 to 2008. Meri-Tuuli then went on to get a Master's Degree in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from the University of Jyväskylä from 2011 to 2014. Finally, they completed Terveyden edistämisen ja terveystiedon aineopinnot (60op) from the University of Eastern Finland from 2014 to 2015.
