Matt Watson

Cybersecurity Consultant at Guernsey

Matt Watson is a cybersecurity consultant at Guernsey. Prior to this, he served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps from November 2015 to March 2021. In this role, he supervised a department of more than 90 personnel and was responsible for more than $10 million in information systems. Matthew also collaborated with domestic and foreign organizations to plan and implement strategic goals in an global environment.

Before his time in the military, Watson interned at the International Republican Institute in the Eurasia Division from June 2014 to August 2014. In this role, he supported the mission of the International Republican Institute to facilitate democratic elections throughout the world, with a focus on Ukraine. Matthew also aided campaigns in support of women's involvement in democratic governance abroad.

Watson began his professional career as an admissions counselor at The University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma from August 2012 to August 2013.

Matthew Watson has a Master of Public Service and Administration from Texas A&M University, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, and certifications from (ISC)² in Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), the United States Department of Defense in Top Secret Clearance, Microsoft in SharePoint Advanced Site Manager, and Project Management in Project Management Professional (PMP).

He is on a team with Luke Roznovsky - Cybersecurity Analyst. Matt Watson reports to Timothy Fawcett, VP, Director of Cyber Security Consulting.
