Sam Funchess has held a variety of roles in the business and finance industry since 2000. From 2000 to 2001, they served as a Commercial Lender at SouthTrust Bank. From 2001 to 2007, they were the President and CEO of Software Publishers, a manufacturer of Compact Disc (CD) and Digital Video Disc (DVD) and related print packaging. In 2007, they joined The Gate City's Community Bank, a division of West Town Savings Bank, as a Member of the Advisory Board. Sam also served as a Member of the Bryan School Business Administration Advisory Board at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 2007 to 2013. From 2013 to 2014, they were a Member of the Small Business Advisory Committee at the Office of US Senator Kay R. Hagan. In 2014, they joined Guerrilla RF as the Vice President of Investor Relations and as a Founding Member of the Board of Directors. Sam also served as the CEO and President of the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship from 2006 to 2014 and as a Founding Co-Organizer of Shift Here from 2012 to 2014. In 2015, they became a Member of the Business Advisory Council at Greensboro College and a Board Member at Kindermusik International.
Sam Funchess attended Guilford College from 1996 to 1998, where they double majored in Accounting and Management. Sam has obtained several certifications, including Class XXV from Leadership North Carolina in May 2018, North Carolina Advanced Directors' College from the North Carolina Office of the Commissioner of Banks in December 2010, North Carolina Bank Directors' College Class XIX from the North Carolina Office of the Commissioner of Banks in 2010, and LG Class 2008 from Leadership Greensboro in May 2008.
