Senior Guide Dog Mobility Instructor at Guide Dogs for the Blind

Chelsea Allen is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in canine mobility instruction and marine biology. Since January 2015, Chelsea has held multiple titles at Guide Dogs for the Blind, including Senior Guide Dog Mobility Instructor and Qualified Guide Dog Mobility Instructor, demonstrating a strong commitment to animal welfare and training. Prior to this, Chelsea served as a Whale Watch Naturalist at San Juan Outfitters and a Marine Naturalist at the Pacific Whale Foundation, leveraging a background in marine biology obtained from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where Chelsea earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Additionally, Chelsea contributed to the Marine Mammal Physiology Project at UCSC as an Assistant Trainer from April 2009 to May 2011.

Guide Dogs for the Blind

Established in 1942, GDB is the largest Guide Dog school in North America and continues its dedication to quality student training services and extensive follow-up support for graduates. Our programs are made possible through the teamwork of staff, volunteers and generous donors. GDB receives no government funds. Services are provided to students from the United States and Canada at no cost to them. GDB is headquartered in San Rafael, California, with a second campus in Boring, Oregon. More than 12,500 teams have graduated from our program, and there are approximately 2,200 active teams in the field currently.
