Marshall Matson

Assistant Superintendent of Schools at Guilford County Schools

Marshall Matson has extensive experience in the education sector, currently serving as Chief of Schools for Guilford County Schools since July 2007, and previously holding roles such as School Support Officer, Director of Blended Learning, and Principal within the same district. Prior to this, Marshall worked as Program Director for the North Carolina New Schools Project from July 2004 to July 2007 and served as Principal at Edgecombe County Public Schools from May 2003 to July 2004. Marshall's educational career began in Edgecombe County, where positions included Teacher from October 1991 to May 2001 and Corps Member with Teach For America from 1991 to 1993. Academically, Marshall earned a Master of School Administration from East Carolina University and a Bachelor of Science in English from The University of Georgia.
