Geordania Valdez has extensive experience in the blood collection and healthcare training sectors, currently serving as the Manager of Donor Collections Training at Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center since 2003. In this role, Geordania conducts assessments to evaluate training program effectiveness and assists in curriculum development, while also preparing training schedules and ensuring necessary resources for trainers. Previous positions include Training Supervisor, Training Specialist, Assistant Facility Manager, and Mobile Supervisor, where responsibilities ranged from conducting training sessions to performing phlebotomy and donor care. Earlier experience includes serving as a Student Nurse at Harris County Hospital in the Labor and Delivery unit. Geordania holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from Prairie View A&M University.

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center began operations, independent of the Harris County Medical Society on Jan. 1, 1975. Today, recognized worldwide for its quality assurance programming, state-of-the-art technologies and management expertise, The Blood Center has grown to more than 700 employees and serves more than 170 hospitals and health care institutions in the 26-county Texas Gulf Coast, Brazos Valley and East Texas regions. To meet the needs of the area community, The Blood Center must collect about 1,000 donations every day. That is why The Blood Center encourages individuals to Commit for Life, a partnership between the community and Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center that is focused on saving lives, today and in the future. Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is a nonprofit, independent blood center that is not affiliated with the American Red Cross.
