Leah Sturm

Leah joined GMRI in January 2023 as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Development Officer and Chief Science Officer. Leah holds a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies and Geology from Cornell College of Iowa.

Prior to joining GMRI, Leah worked in environmental consulting as a project manager and environmental scientist. Leah also has experience supporting several public and non-profit organizations.

Growing up in a Midwest farming community, Leah has held on to a tie to agriculture. Over time this has developed into an interest in farming, food insecurity, and sustainable agriculture. She is excited to be a part of GMRI, gain additional knowledge about fisheries, and support the Development and Science departments.
