Frank Tate

Frank Tate has held various roles in the technology industry since 1995. Frank began their career at IBM Tivoli Software as a 3rd Level Support, where they were responsible for fixing reported defects in Tivoli's C++ CORBA based applications. In 1997, Frank moved to SMART Technologies as a Release Engineer. In 1998, they founded Gulfsoft Consulting and served as CEO CIO, managing a team of 40 consultants and 5 back-office staff providing consulting services for very large enterprises. Frank generated annual revenue of $12 million and created and managed contracts and project plans for engagements ranging from software upgrades to cloud migration efforts, with project budgets up to $2 million. In 2003, Frank worked as an ITSM Consultant for a large insurance company through Gulfsoft Consulting, where they implemented IBM Application Performance Management (APM) to discover and monitor web applications and created a Chrome plugin to allow a user to sort table data on an existing COTS web application. In 2008, they worked as an ITSM Lead and Technical PM for a large bank through Gulfsoft Consulting, where they implemented network, server, and application discovery and monitoring, with high availability for the control plane, created business service dashboards with application topology to reduce incident triage time and MTTR, and developed and implemented a solution consisting of IBM Cloud Orchestrator, IBM Control Desk, IBM BigFix, SolarWinds, IBM TADDM, ServiceNow ITOM, Microsoft Flow, Ansible Tower, and AWS API Gateway to create a fully functional CMDB with Configuration, Change, Problem, Incident and Remediation processes implemented. In 2011, Frank worked as a Technical PM and ITSM Architect for a large energy company through Gulfsoft Consulting. In 2014, they worked as an Information Technology Architect for a large transportation company through Gulfsoft Consulting. In 2016, they worked as a Senior Enterprise Architect and Technical PM for a Canadian petroleum company through Gulfsoft Consulting. In 2018, they worked as a Digital Transformation Lead for a large healthcare company through Gulfsoft Consulting, where they supervised business analysis and subsequent ITIL assessment for a large IT department to determine how well they were following their own ITIL documents and architected and led the merging of IT departments after several mergers and acquisitions. In 2022, Frank joined MathJax, Inc. as a Board Member. MathJax is a JavaScript display engine for mathematics that works in all browsers and is in the process of being structured as a non-profit organization.

Frank Tate obtained their BA in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin between 1988 and 1994. In 2016, they received their CompTIA Security+ certification from CompTIA. In 2017, they obtained their PSM I certification from Scrum.org and their ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification from ServiceNow. In 2018, they received their AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). In 2019, they obtained their (ISC)2 Security CISSP (ISC2-CISSP) certification from (ISC)2, their Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from Project Management Institute, and their Master of Business Administration - MBA in Data Analytics from LSU Shreveport.
