Arman Abbasi

Arman Abbasi has a strong background in technology and engineering with progressive roles throughout their career. Arman is currently the Director of Technology at Gumtree.com, where they have been since January 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Technology at eBay from January 2019 to December 2022.

Before their role at eBay, Abbasi was the Head of Engineering at PhotoBox from April 2017 to January 2019. Arman also worked at Marks and Spencer as a Technical Lead from December 2015 to April 2017.

Earlier in their career, Abbasi held the position of Lead Frontend Engineer at Emesa Nederland BV | Emesa Holdings BV from July 2014 to December 2015. Arman also worked at ING as a Technical Project Lead from January 2013 to July 2014 and as a Senior Frontend Engineer from January 2012 to January 2013. Before that, they served as a Frontend Engineer at Sogeti from February 2011 to January 2012 and at Rasto from September 2009 to July 2010.

Arman Abbasi's education history includes obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Computer Science from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences from 2004 to 2006. Arman then pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Aeronautics/Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology at the same university from 2006 to 2009.

Arman furthered their education at Delft University of Technology, where they completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, they attended Ohio University in 2011 and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Innovation and High-Performance Teaming.

In terms of certifications, Arman earned the Oracle Certified Java Programmer certification from Oracle in September 2011.
