Dan practices corporate and securities law, with a focus on representing companies and investors in the technology and life science sectors. He represents startup and emerging growth companies, issuers and underwriters in public offerings, and companies involved in merger and acquisition transactions.
In addition to representing clients, Dan has previously served on the firm’s Management Committee and Operations Committee, as well as head of the firm’s Corporate Group and the firm's Administrative Partner.
Before helping found Gunderson Dettmer, Dan was an attorney in the Palo Alto office of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison. Dan is admitted to practice in California.
Prior to starting his law career, Dan was an accountant with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (now KPMG). Dan has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1986 (currently on inactive status).
Dan is a co-author of Formation and Financing of Emerging Growth Companies in the Emerging Growth Companies Series (Thomson Reuters).
