Gunnebo Entrance Control is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team.

What You Will Do:

  • To produce drawings of electrical and mechanical components for manufacturing.
  • To produce solid works and proposal drawings for the Sales department
  • To produce acknowledgement, project specific and product improvement drawings as requested.
  • To update the company’s standard product lines as required and undertake given tasks to develop and enhance the company’s products as needed.
  • Typically requires an academic degree (B.E. Mech) and minimum of 4-5 years directly relevant work experience.
  • To document work via electronic format in an organized traceable process.
  • To be conversant in the use of the Company’s Mechanical design and drafting.
  • To work within budgetary constraints, in a cost effective, diligent and organized manner.
  • To provide accurate estimates of the time required for design and drafting tasks.
  • To identify standardization opportunities.
  • To provide technical assistance for Technical Data Sheets and Product Manuals.
  • To update drawings from requested changes via the Engineering Change Note system (ECN) and question any changes that do not appear to be valid or cost effective.
  • To commit to quality by working in accordance with design department procedures, approved manufacturing methods, materials and relevant standards.
  • To provide support to the sales department where necessary with proposal drawings.
  • To maintain the design department library of master drawings in an organized and proper condition.
  • To undertake additional related tasks or responsibilities as appropriate or as requested by the R&D Manager.

Who we are looking for:

  • 5 years’ experience in mechanical engineering design.

  • Prior work with SolidWorks and PDM.

  • Proven track record in 3D renderings via any of the mainstream CAD or graphics platforms.

  • Ability to read, understand and communicate wiring schematics at an electrical standpoint

  • Should have experience in Sheet metal Fabrication, Manufacturing Process, Injection Molding and Machined Components.

  • Excellent capability in reading and understanding mechanical and Basic Electrical drawings.

  • Telephone skills, strong verbal and written communication.

  • Preference to candidates having experience in Electromechanical product developments.

Typical Office: This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.

Irregular hours may be required around Projects Kick Off / Product Creation schedule
