Colin Read

Colin Read is an experienced crude trader currently working at Gunvor Group Ltd since May 2023. Prior to this role, Colin served as Crude and Condensate Book Lead at Plains Midstream Canada from August 2019 to March 2023, overseeing various crude trading activities, including Heavy, Sweet, Sour, Synthetic, and C5 trading. Colin's earlier positions at Plains included Condensate Book Lead and Condensate Trader, where responsibilities ranged from managing positions to generating profits from imports and storage assets. Before joining Plains, Colin spent over seven years at Cenovus Energy, progressing from Senior Condensate Trader to Marketing and Downstream Integration Analyst, contributing significantly to trading analytics and economic modeling. Colin's career began at Apache Corporation as a Student Operator after completing a Diploma in Petroleum Engineering Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Alberta.
