Don Theune has extensive experience in the field of operations research and software development, with a focus on providing analytical support to military organizations. Don has held various leadership roles throughout their career. From 1988 to 1994, they worked at Potomac Systems Engineering, starting as a software development manager and later becoming the Senior Vice President for Operations Research and Software Development. During this time, they supported the planning of special operations during Operation Desert Storm. From 1994 to 1998, they served as the Director of Operations Research and Software Development at SETA Corporation, where they managed a support program for professional military operations planning. Don then worked at Virtual Technology Corporation as the Director of Operations from 1998 to 2001. At Northrop Grumman IT, they served as the Program Manager for the Joint Analytical Support Program II from 2001 to 2006, assembling and managing a team that provided analytical support to the Unified Combatant Commanders. From 2006 to 2011, they worked at the Department of the Navy - USPACOM as the Deputy Chief of the Studies and Analysis Division, where they assisted with studies and analyses for the J-5 Plans and J-3 Operations Divisions. Since 2018, they have been working as the Director of Technical Operations at GURU Solutions, LLC.
Don Theune obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics - Secondary Education from Lakeland University in 1978. Don then pursued further education and obtained a Master's Degree in Operations Research/Systems Analysis from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School from 1980 to 1982.
