Amy Schmidt

Costume Director at Guthrie Theater

Amy Schmidt is a seasoned costume professional with extensive experience in theater costume management and design. Since June 1998, Amy has served as the Costume Manager at Guthrie Theater, overseeing a large team responsible for producing costumes for all productions. Prior to this role, Amy spent a decade at Omaha Community Playhouse, where responsibilities included stitcher, backstage dresser, draper, designer, and ultimately Costume Director for the last three years. Academically, Amy holds an MFA in Costume Design from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Randolph College.

Guthrie Theater

The Guthrie Theater was founded by Sir Tyrone Guthrie in 1963 and is dedicated to producing the great works of dramatic literature, developing the work of contemporary playwrights and cultivating the next generation of theater artists.
