Jessica Rau is an accomplished professional in the fields of wigs, hair, and makeup, currently serving as the Head of Wigs, Hair, & Makeup at Guthrie Theater since October 2018. In this role, Jessica is responsible for styling, designing, and maintaining wigs and facial hair, collaborating closely with artists and directors for various productions. As a co-founder of the Valkyrie Music Collective, Jessica advocates for women’s empowerment in the music industry. Previous experience includes serving as Program and Artistic Director at The Cedar Cultural Center and leading community engagement initiatives at Minnesota Orchestra. Jessica holds a Master of Science in Anthropology from North Dakota State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism/Anthropology - Theater from the University of Minnesota.

Guthrie Theater
The Guthrie Theater was founded by Sir Tyrone Guthrie in 1963 and is dedicated to producing the great works of dramatic literature, developing the work of contemporary playwrights and cultivating the next generation of theater artists. Under the artistic leadership of Joseph Haj, the Guthrie produces a mix of classic and contemporary plays on three stages, and continues to set a national standard for excellence in theatrical production and performance.
