Amy Friedrich-Karnik is the Director of Federal Policy at Guttmacher Institute. Prior to this role, Amy was the Vice President of Advocacy and Communications at WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease. Amy has a background in legislative affairs, government relations, and advocacy with a focus on social justice, women's issues, and nonprofits. Amy has also held positions at the Center for Reproductive Rights, National Alliance for Caregiving, and Family Caregiver Alliance, where Amy managed projects, wrote funding proposals, developed legislation databases, and oversaw national conferences. Amy's education includes a Master's in Public Policy from UCLA and a Bachelor's in Political Science from Pacific Lutheran University.
