João Vieira

João Vieira has a long history of working in the tech industry. In 2018, they joined GUURU as one of the first two employees and split a Node.js monolith that ran on AppEngine into services and jobs running on Kubernetes (GKE). From 2014 to 2018, they worked at VILT as a Support and Release Engineer, introducing Configuration Management using Salt to a fleet of a hundred existing servers and creating an on-premises Kubernetes cluster integrated with GitLab CI. João's career began in 2005 when they co-founded Yubo.

João Vieira obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Software Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico between 2007 and 2014. João also has additional certifications from Udacity, Coursera, and edX, including CS212 Design of Computer Programs (obtained in August 2021), Machine Learning (obtained in April 2015), and FP101x Introduction to Functional Programming (obtained in January 2015).
