Nigel Benfield

Nigel Benfield possesses extensive experience in the power sector, currently serving as the Manager of Electrification Projects at Guyana Power & Light Inc. since May 2019, focusing on rural electrification initiatives. Previously, Nigel held roles as Regional Manager for both Essequibo and Berbice, overseeing departmental activities, operations, and maintenance of power generation facilities, as well as managing procurement and budgeting. Prior positions included Senior Engineer for Transmission and Distribution, where Nigel managed maintenance and network operations, and System Operations Engineer, coordinating various power delivery and system control facilities. An educational background includes a Master of Science in Project Management from the University of Liverpool and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Guyana.
