Our dedicated team of Monogastric Nutritionists are passionate about supporting our swine and poultry customers by providing leading edge ration formulations and utilizing premixes, supplements and complete feeds for pigs, chickens and other monogastric producers across Canada. As the ideal candidate for this position, you will be passionate about serving the agriculture industry, be a caring team player and an advanced trouble shooter who enjoys providing innovative solutions to producers that result in successes for the customer and their overall operation.
Working with us:
Typical work hours for this position are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Given the nature of your role supporting our sales team and customers nationally, you will travel to visit customers across Manitoba and may have opportunities to travel outside of the province and outside of Canada as requested. This means there may be times when you will be required to work outside of these typical hours.
As a Monogastric Nutritionist, you will be based out of our Winnipeg office, with the requirement to travel where needed.
What you’ll do:
Formulate new rations and update current rations specific to the producers needs
Assess feed and ingredient samples and performance data to adjust rations accordingly
Maintain ration balancing program and keep accurate records
Travel to visit customers and prospects individually and with sales team members to build relationships, trouble shoot and resolve feed and nutrition related problems
Provide regular consultation and advice to internal and external customers regarding products, ingredients, and nutrition
Assist in the formulation of new products and aid in field trial experiments
Provide On-Farm Business Intelligence consultation and production recommendations to customers and collaborate with the Canada-wide team
Assist in product and nutrition training for new team members and ongoing training for team members
Help administrate and monitor the quality assurance and quality control programs and comply with CFIA regulations
Attend and participate in industry specific promotional and educational events
Be an integral part of the team which includes working collaboratively with our national team of Monogastric Nutritionists and other GVF group team members
Your background includes:
A true passion for agriculture
Master’s degree in Swine Nutrition
3+ years of working experience in a nutritionist role
Experience in swine management, herd health, flock health, and marketplace knowledge
Experience working with Brill/NDS, BestMix or AMTS is an asset
Highly developed interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to deliver results quickly and efficiently and work collaboratively within a team
Ability to travel daily across Manitoba
