Matteo Maglio has extensive experience in the field of electrical engineering. Matteo is currently working as a New Product Development Senior Engineer at G&W Electric Co. In this role, they are responsible for designing and testing medium voltage switchgears according to national and international standards. Matteo also works on improving electric and electronic components for driving MV switchgears and Circuit Breakers. Matteo collaborates with electrical distribution utilities, testing laboratories, and certification bodies to fulfill the switchgears homologation process.
Prior to their current position, Matteo worked at ABB as an R&D Electrical Engineer. Matteo held this role from October 2013 to February 2021.
Before joining ABB, Matteo was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Politecnico di Milano. During their time there, they conducted research on design and analysis of electromagnetic components with FEM software. Matteo also worked on circuit coil models and resonant converters for induction heating devices in partnership with Whirlpool Europe. In addition, Matteo served as a teaching assistant for various electrical engineering courses and worked on research projects in collaboration with R.F.I and Siemens.
