Arun Veerappan has extensive work experience in the field of mechanical engineering. Arun began their career as a Project Engineer at Ventura Engineers, where they were responsible for process planning, drafting, and interacting with subcontractors for manufacturing processes. During this time, they gained knowledge in various manufacturing processes and achieved success in quality testing and fixture design.
Arun then worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Fujitsu Network Communications, where they designed sheet metal and plastic parts for telecom equipment using CATIA V5/Creo 3.0 and other 3D modeling software. Arun also updated drawings using AutoCAD and contributed to the Industrial Engineering team.
Afterwards, Arun joined Cisco as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. Arun worked on various business units, including Internet of Things (IoT), where they were accountable for new product introduction and generating part numbers using Cisco PLM. Arun also had responsibilities such as creating engineering change orders, structuring the bill of material, assessing risk rating, and providing technical expertise on engineering aspects.
Arun then joined Zodiac Pool Systems as a Mechanical Design Engineer, where they worked on designing various products. Arun also worked as a Sales Engineer at Select 3D Pty Ltd for a brief period.
Following these roles, they joined Zip Water as a Mechanical Design Engineer, where they designed and drafted components, packaging, and assemblies using Solidworks. Arun also worked on value engineering and reported project status to senior project managers and business unit heads. Arun interacted with vendors for purchasing new items based on design innovation.
Most recently, Arun joined Enware Australia Pty Limited as a Mechanical Engineer. Here, they were responsible for design and drafting for thermostatic mixer valve boxes and related components. Arun also conducted research and development for new value engineering products and worked on componentry new product development.
Currently, Arun is employed as a Design Engineer at GWA Group Limited.
Arun Veerappan completed their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering from Sastra University from 2005 to 2009. Prior to that, they attended Vairams Matriculation Higher Secondary School from 2003 to 2005, where they studied Computer Science for their Matriculation and 12th.
In addition to their formal education, Arun Veerappan has obtained multiple certifications. Arun completed the Learning CATIA v5 course through LinkedIn in July 2021. In October 2020, they received a Certificate III in Competitive Systems and Practices from Corporate Partners Australia. Arun also holds a CPR/AED/First Aid certification from All Aid First Aid, obtained in September 2020.
Arun Veerappan has pursued various online courses and trainings as well. In August 2016, they completed the SOLIDWORKS 2016 Essential Training and Surfacing with SOLIDWORKS courses through Lynda.com. Additionally, in July 2016, they finished the Introduction to Photography: Lightroom and Photoshop course, also from Lynda.com. In June 2016, they completed training in Rapid Prototyping for Product Design and Autodesk Inventor 2017 New Features, both through Lynda.com.
Furthermore, Arun Veerappan received training in Cisco Agile PDM from Cisco in December 2013 and Autodesk Inventor from Autodesk in January 2013. In April 2008, they obtained a certification in AutoCAD and in March 2008, they completed training in Pro E, both through CADD Centre Training Services Pvt Ltd.
