Khalid Hossain

Khalid Hossain, Ph.D., is a seasoned GIS professional currently serving as a Sr. IT GIS Analyst with Gwinnett County Government since June 2023, where Khalid leads the development of real-time incident dashboards and manages GIS data. Prior experience includes roles at FedEx as an Operations Research Advisor and Sr. Operations Research Analyst, where Khalid focused on geospatial algorithms and machine learning techniques for optimizing delivery routes and package forecasting. Khalid has also contributed to academia as a lecturer and research scholar at Mississippi State University and North Carolina State University, teaching various courses in geography and GIS. Khalid is pursuing a postgraduate degree in Data Science and Business Analytics at The University of Texas at Austin, building on a robust educational background that includes a Ph.D. in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, an MS in Geography, and a Bachelor's in Urban and Rural Planning.
