Matthew Puckett

Matthew Puckett's work experience includes serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at Gwinnett County since 2018. In this role, they established a cybersecurity division responsible for system monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and application security. Prior to this, from 2015 to 2018, they worked as the Security Operations Team Lead at Sharecare, Inc., where they led a team responsible for system monitoring, incident response, and penetration testing. From 2008 to 2015, they served as the Information Security Officer at Georgia Gwinnett College, where they implemented security technology such as Snort IDS and centralized logging. Before that, they worked at Code Ready Solutions as a Search Engine Optimization Analyst from 2005 to 2008, and as a Network Security Intern at Fulton County Government in 2008.

Matthew Puckett completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from Georgia State University from 2006 to 2008. Matthew also obtained a Certificate in Organizational Leadership from Harvard Business School Online in 2022. Matthew Puckett holds additional certifications including ITIL Foundation Level from AXELOS Global Best Practice (obtained year 2020), GIAC Law of Data Security & Investigations (GLEG) from GIAC Certifications (obtained month 11, year 2020), OSCP from Offensive Security (obtained year 2017), and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA (obtained month 12, year 2017).
