Arturo J. Carrillo is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in human rights law and international legal consultancy. Currently serving as the Lead for Human Rights at Global Action on Gun Violence since August 2022, Carrillo also holds dual roles as Clinical Professor of Law and Director of the Civil and Human Rights Law Clinic at The George Washington University Law School, a position held since June 2003. Additionally, Carrillo has served as Co-Director of the Global Internet Freedom Project at the same institution since 2011 and was Co-Chair of the International Law & Technology Interest Group at the American Society of International Law from April 2019 to April 2021. Previous roles include being a Past Board Member of the Global Network Initiative and an International Legal Consultant for the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative, where Carrillo focused on workshops related to Internet Freedom and international law. Educational credentials comprise an LLM from Columbia Law School and a JD from The George Washington University Law School, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies from Princeton University.
