Marcus Goodyear has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Marcus began their career as a Teacher at Northside ISD from 1996 to 2005. From there, Marcus held multiple roles at the H.E. Butt Foundation, starting as a Research Editor from 2005 to 2010 and later becoming the Editor of The High Calling from 2010 to 2016. Marcus then served as the Director of Communications Operations from 2017 to 2019 and the Director of Communications from 2019 to 2020. In 2018, Marcus also became the President of Kerrville Robotics Alliance. Marcus also had a brief role as a Poetry Editor for T.S. Poetry Press in 2010.
Marcus Goodyear completed their Bachelor's degree in English from Texas A&M University from 1993 to 1997. Marcus then pursued a Master's degree in English Literature and Composition at The University of Texas at San Antonio from 1999 to 2003. In addition to their academic qualifications, Marcus has obtained several additional certifications. Marcus earned the Certified Scrum Master designation from the Scrum Alliance in June 2015. Later, in April 2019, they further enhanced their expertise by achieving the Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) certification from the same institution. Most recently, in December 2021, Marcus obtained a certificate in Design Thinking: From Insights to Viability from Stanford GSB Executive Education.
