Janae Washington

Janae Washington serves as ITI's Director of Communications where she develops and implements a communications strategy and messaging that advances the tech industry’s policy and advocacy priorities.

Janae came to ITI from Capitol Hill where she was Deputy Communications Director for Congressman Andy Levin of Michigan, serving as a primary on-the-record spokesperson for the Congressman and managing his digital and social media platforms. Previously, Janae was a political appointee in the Executive Office of Mayor Muriel Bowser of Washington, DC where she held public affairs roles.

Janae received her Master’s in Public Administration and Policy from American University and is also a proud alumna of Howard University where she received her B.A. in Sociology with a minor in African Studies and was a Fulbright-Hays Scholar allowing her to study at the University of Zululand in Richards Bay, South Africa.

Janae has been a DC resident since arriving to the city for undergraduate, and resides with her Lab Spaniel mix, Reign.
