Samuel Kennedy has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Samuel most recently served as the Director of Corporate Communications at St. Luke's University Health Network since April 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a Health Care Reporter at The Morning Call from October 2011 to April 2017. Samuel also worked as a Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley from August 2008 to August 2009. During their fellowship, they had the opportunity to work as a Reporter on the "Black Money" documentary at FRONTLINE PBS. Before that, they were a Business Reporter at The Morning Call from July 2003 to July 2008. Samuel also gained experience as a Reporter at The Press Democrat from July 2001 to July 2003. Samuel started their career as a Technical Writer at Innovative Interfaces from December 1997 to August 1999. Samuel also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer from August 1994 to October 1996.

Samuel Kennedy obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a focus in General Business Finance from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst, completing their education between 1990 and 1994. Samuel then pursued a Master of Journalism degree at the University of California, Berkeley from 1999 to 2001. Later, in 2010 and 2011, they obtained a Master of Education (MEd) degree from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. In addition, Samuel Kennedy earned a certification in Healthcare Leadership for Mass Casualty Incidents from FEMA's Center for Domestic Preparedness in 2017.
