John Ihrig is a seasoned GIS professional with extensive experience in the field, currently serving as a GIS Project Manager at Haag Engineering since October 2015. As a founding member of the GIS group, John has played a pivotal role in establishing operational workflows and serves as the lead developer for FME, focusing on data loading and validation. Prior to this, John held positions as a Spatial Data Analyst at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and a GIS Technician at Talisman Energy USA Inc., where responsibilities included pipeline map production, data maintenance, and automation of updates using FME. Earlier experience includes work as a Geotech at Matador Resources Co., where John supported exploration efforts, and as a volunteer Geo Tech at Jarvis Christian College. Additionally, John began their career as an intern at Mitigation Strategies, gaining hands-on experience in field sampling and cartography. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Cartography from Stephen F. Austin State University, earned in 2011.
