Huttunen Salla

Vice President for Competences, RDI and Digitalisation at Haaga-Helia University

Salla Huttunen is the current Vice President for Competences, RDI and Digitalisation at Haaga-Helia University. Huttunen has held this position since August 2012. Prior to that, they were the Director of Digital Business - ICT, Business Service Solutions, and Journalism education at the university from January 2012 to August 2012.

Before their work at Haaga-Helia University, Salla worked at Nokia in various communications roles from 2005 to 2011. Huttunen was first a Communications Manager from October 2005 to February 2009, then Head of Employee Communications from February 2009 to April 2011, and finally Communications Director from April 2011 to December 2011.

Salla has been instrumental in developing digital business education at Haaga-Helia University. Huttunen established a new Master's degree programme in Communication Management and created its curriculum. Under their leadership, the programme has flourished and become one of the most popular programmes at the university.

Huttunen Salla has a PhD in International Business Communication from Aalto-yliopisto. Huttunen also has an MA in English Philology and Political Science from Helsingin yliopisto, as well as a Teacher's Pedagogical Qualification in Vocational Pedagogy from Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. Huttunen has also completed an Organizational Leadership course from VIA SLA23, and they have an Intensive Course in French from Université Lumière (Lyon II). Finally, they are a graduate of Salinkallion Lukio.

They are on a team with Ahonen Jouni - Vice President for Commercial and International Services, Ilmonen Hanna - HR Director, People and Culture, and Kauppinen Matti - Director, Regional Integration. Their manager is Teemu Kokko, President.
