Gary Foote has a diverse and extensive work experience in the technology and motorsport industries. Gary started their career in 2005 as a Trackside Systems Support Engineer at Cosworth Technology. Gary then worked as a Trackside IT Engineer at Honda Racing F1 for a brief period in 2008 before joining Brawn GP Formula One Team as a Senior Technical Systems Engineer. Gary played a role in helping Brawn GP win the FIA Formula One World Championship in 2009. Gary continued their career at Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Limited, where they held various IT-related positions, including IT Support Desk Manager, Trackside IT Manager, and IT Service Delivery Manager. During this time, Mercedes achieved back-to-back FIA Formula One World Championships in 2015 and 2016. In 2016, Gary joined Haas F1 Team as the Chief Information Officer, where they had overall responsibility for all technology systems and services for the team's global operations. Gary was a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. Recently, Gary took on new roles as a Co-opted Trustee/Non-Exec Director at Tove Learning Trust and a Member of the Board of Trustees at SSNAP, a charity providing support to sick newborns and their parents.

Gary Foote attended the University of Derby from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honors degree in Computer Science with Networks. Prior to their university education, they also attended Newport Free Grammar School, although specific details such as the duration of their enrollment and any degrees or fields of study are not provided.
