Sean Payant has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Sean started their career as a Graduate Assistant in Educational Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 1990 to 1994.

From 1994 to 1996, Sean worked as the Director of Member Services & Education at the Nebraska Realtors Association, followed by a role as the Director of Education, Research & Development at the Kansas Association of Realtors from 1996 to 1998.

Sean then transitioned to the banking sector, where they served as the Executive Director of Schools of Banking from 1998 to 2007, overseeing skills-based education for bankers.

In 2007, Sean joined Haberfeld, where they held multiple positions, including Consultant/Executive Consultant from 2007 to 2009, Vice President - Consultant Development from 2009 to 2009, Executive Vice President - Consulting Services from 2009 to 2012, and Senior Executive Vice President - Consulting Services from 2012 to 2016.

From 2016 to 2021, they served as the Chief Consulting Officer & Sr. EVP at Haberfeld, leading a team of 30+ consultants and serving on the five-person management team. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Strategy Officer & Sr. EVP at Haberfeld, responsible for overseeing the High Performance Growth for banking strategy and leading a team of 65+ talented individuals.

Additionally, Sean has also been involved in teaching roles as a Faculty Member at the Pacific Coast Banking School since 2017 and at the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking since 2019.

Sean Payant earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, English, Language Arts, and Psychology from Midland University from 1986 to 1990. Sean then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Educational Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 1990 to 1994. Finally, they completed their education with a Ph.D. in Psychological Studies in Education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, studying from 2003 to 2005.
