Laurens D. has a strong background in credit and risk management, with experience in several reputable financial institutions. Laurens is currently the Head of Credit at Habib Bank AG Zurich. Prior to this, Laurens worked at Deutsche Bank as a Senior Lending Officer and Desk Head for the APAC region. Laurens provided tailored financing solutions for APAC clients involved in various sectors. Before that, they held the position of Director and Credit Advisor at LGT - Private Banking und Asset Management. Laurens also served as the Head of Regional Risk Management for Private Banking APAC at ABN AMRO Bank, where they oversaw risk systems, lending policies, and methodologies across the region. In addition, they worked as a Senior Credit Officer for Private Wealth Management in the Asia-Pacific region at Deutsche Bank. Laurens has also held roles as a Senior Credit Officer and Project Manager in the Risk Division at Deutsche Bank Nederland NV and as a Credit Officer for (Ultra) High Net Worth clients at Deutsche Bank.

Laurens D. pursued their education starting in 2001 at the University of Groningen, where they completed their Master's degree in International Economics & Business. Laurens attended the university for seven years, graduating in 2007. In 2005, Laurens also briefly attended Stellenbosch University, focusing on Economics and International Relations, although it is unclear whether they obtained a degree from this institution. Later, in July 2022, Laurens obtained a certification as a Certified ESG Analyst from EFFAS - The European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies.
