Jessica Hord has a diverse and extensive work experience. Jessica began their career as a Public Relations Specialist at Baptist Memorial Health Care in 2004. Jessica then moved on to Obsidian Public Relations, where they held roles as an Account Executive and an Account Manager from 2006 to 2010. From 2010 onwards, Jessica joined Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis, where they held various positions such as Director of Community Relations, Director of Marketing and Communications, Director of Communications and Development, and Director of Communications and Marketing. Their most recent role at the organization was Vice President of Brand Strategy, where they effectively positioned Memphis Habitat as an expert in affordable housing and oversaw thought leadership efforts.

Jessica Hord graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communications, majoring in Journalism with a focus in Public Relations, from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2003.

Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Since 1983, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis has been working to realize that vision in Memphis and Shelby County. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis partners with people in our community to help them build or improve places they can call home through new home construction, rehabilitation projects, and Aging in place accessibility and mobility modifications for seniors. Memphis Habitat has helped more than 480 first-time homebuyers access affordable mortgages and completed rehabilitation and home modification projects in partnership with more than 350 homeowners, helping them achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families. In 2016, Memphis Habitat served as the host for Habitat for Humanity International’s Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project.
