Kathryn Fernandez (she/her)

Kathryn Fernandez has a diverse range of work experience. Kathryn most recently served as the Chief Development Officer (CDO) at Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia, where they were responsible for institutional advancement and developing affordable housing projects. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Director of Institutional Advancement at the same organization. Kathryn also worked as a Development Director at Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia, collaborating with residents and partners to transform neighborhoods and build thriving communities.

In addition to their work at Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia, Kathryn has experience as an Independent Consultant, providing governance, management, and fundraising advice to local companies and nonprofits. Kathryn also frequently speaks as a panelist and guest on similar topics in partnership with universities and nonprofits.

Earlier in their career, Kathryn served as the Director of Development at Legacy Youth Tennis and Education, where they were responsible for fundraising efforts. Before that, they worked as an Associate Director at CCS, a consulting and management firm specializing in fundraising campaigns for non-profit institutions. Kathryn also worked as an Advisor at ThinkImpact, where they empowered rural communities in Panama, Rwanda, and South Africa to improve their daily lives.

Kathryn's work experience also includes volunteering as a Peace Corps member at the Belmopan Public Library, where they pursued grant and funding opportunities, organized community events, and managed volunteer programs. Kathryn also served as the Band Director at Company Shops Band and as a Fine Arts Teacher at Western Alamance High School.

Kathryn Fernandez (she/her) has a diverse education history. In 2007, they graduated from Messiah University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. Kathryn then furthered their studies by pursuing a Master of Science degree in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management at the University of Pennsylvania from 2012 to 2013. In 2019, Kathryn enrolled in the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, where they are currently pursuing a certificate in New Strategies Business for Impact.
