Yitna Tekaligne

Yitna Tekaligne currently serves as the National Director and AU representative for Habitat for Humanity Ethiopia, beginning in January 2024. Previously, Yitna held the position of Country Director at Christian Aid from September 2011 to January 2024, focusing on strategic leadership and staff empowerment within the organization's country program. Prior roles include Program Director at ActionAid Tanzania and ActionAid Ethiopia, where significant contributions were made to program expansion and strategic development, as well as improved policy practices for minority groups. Early career experience at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development involved team leadership in various agricultural sectors. Yitna holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science from Addis Ababa University.
