Mark McGowan

Mark McGowan is an experienced educator with a focus on international education and language instruction. Currently serving as the Deputy Academic Leader at The International School of Luxembourg, McGowan also teaches IBDP Language and Literature and IGCSE Language and Literature. With a long tenure at the International Baccalaureate, McGowan has held multiple roles, including Program Leader for School Evaluation, IB Examiner, and IB Workshop Leader. McGowan has contributed to educational resources as a co-author for Hodder Education and successfully directed the IB and AP Programs at the American Community School of Athens. Previous positions include Head of English Department at the International School of Brussels and various teaching roles across international institutions. McGowan holds a PGCE in Secondary English, a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies.
