Aakash Shah

Aakash Shah serves as the Chief of Addiction Medicine and Medical Director of Project HEAL at Hackensack Meridian Health, along with practicing as an Emergency Medicine Physician at Hackensack University Medical Center. Previously, Aakash held the position of White House Fellow at the United States Department of Health and Human Services and served as Medical Director at the New Jersey Reentry Corporation. Aakash completed an Emergency Medicine residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and has experience as a Health Policy Fellow for Congressman Raul Ruiz and as Founder and Executive Director of Be Jersey Strong. Aakash's educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine from Harvard Medical School, an MBA from Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, a Master of Science in Comparative Social Policy from the University of Oxford, and a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Biology, Neuroscience, and Inequality Studies from Ursinus College.
