Arieh Y. Shalev

Arieh Y. Shalev is a distinguished Professor of Psychiatry at New York University Langone Medical Center since April 2013, specializing in research on the causes, natural course, and prevention of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and traumatic brain injury. As the Director and Founder of the Center for Traumatic Stress Studies at Hadassah University Hospital since May 1989, Arieh Y. Shalev has led significant research initiatives. Additionally, Arieh Y. Shalev serves as Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry at Hadassah Medical Centers at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and has previously held positions as Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Hadassah University Hospital and as an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at USUHS. Arieh Y. Shalev's educational background includes an M.D. from the Faculté de Medicine in Montpellier, France, and a diploma from Reali High School in Haifa, Israel.
