Julie Ryan has a diverse work experience in the field of regulatory affairs. Julie started their career at Covidien in 2003 as a QA Scientific Services Chemist, where they conducted research, testing, method development, and training for new product development teams. Julie then moved on to become a Regulatory Affairs Associate at Covidien, where they compiled submission dossiers, prepared Technical Files, and supported CE-marking of products. Julie worked in this role until 2008 when they joined Biomet as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist. At Biomet, they managed a team, ensured compliance, and developed and implemented processes to improve systems and practices. Julie was then promoted to Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist, overseeing EMEA compliance and mentoring a team. In 2012, Julie joined Haemonetics as a Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist and later advanced to roles such as Manager, Director, and Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs. Their most recent position at Haemonetics is Vice President of Regulatory Affairs.

Julie Ryan earned an AB, cum laude degree in biological anthropology from Harvard University, where they studied from 1998 to 2001.
