Tina Donnelly

Tina Donnelly was the Director of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Wales and a member of RCN UK Executive team between 2004 and 2018.

During her career she has held management posts in the NHS, senior academic posts in higher education across the UK.

Tina also worked as a civil servant in the Chief Nursing Office advising on health, nursing policy, regulation, human resources, research and education. Tina has significant experience operating at board level having been a member of the Wales Information Governance Board, the Advisory Board of Health Care Inspectorate Wales, the Welsh Government Health Advisory Board and was a Director of Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQiP).

Tina is a Companion of Chartered Management Institute and holds an Honorary Fellowship at the University of South Wales. In 2017 Tina was awarded a Life Time Achievement Award by Care Forum Wales and is named as one of 70 most influential nurses and midwives 1948 -2018, NHS 70. She was awarded a fellowship of the Royal College of Nursing 2017.

In 2014 she was awarded a CBE for services to Nursing, the Armed Forces and Trade Unionism. Tina was a Colonel and Commanding Officer when she retired from the Army Medical Services having served in Kosovo, Oman, Iraq and Afghanistan.
