Amanda Hayman

Amanda Hayman is an accomplished librarian with extensive experience in various roles within the library sector. Currently serving as Treasurer for SCLA - YASD since December 2023, Amanda has held multiple librarian positions at Half Hollow Hills Community Library, including Teen Librarian I and Children's Librarian I, beginning in June 2022. Prior roles include Children's Librarian I at Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library and Children's & YA Librarian Trainee at Island Trees Public Library. Amanda began their library career as a Librarian Intern at Farmingdale Public Library. In addition to library experience, Amanda has a background in writing and publicity, having worked as a Publicity Assistant and Student Reporter at Adelphi University, and as a News Writer for Screen Rant. Educational qualifications include a Master of Library & Information Science from Long Island University and a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing from Adelphi University.
