Simon Cloetta Kristiansen is a Co-Founder & Lead Engineer at Halfspace since December 2014. Simon Cloetta has been responsible for building software that solves problems and has helped clients in various areas such as forecasting, global trading markets, and data transformation. Prior to Halfspace, Simon worked as a Partner & Software Developer at Onlaw from February 2017 to March 2020. Simon Cloetta also has experience as a Software Developer and Industrial PhD student at MaCom A/S from December 2010 to November 2014, where they worked on planning problems faced by high schools. Additionally, they worked as an Industrial PhD student at the Technical University of Denmark from December 2010 to November 2013, focusing on high school timetabling and elective course planning. Simon has also served as a Visiting Scholar at The University of Auckland from September 2012 to March 2013, as a part of their PhD study. Their earlier experience includes working as a Student Assistant in the Consulting Department at Transvision from February 2009 to March 2010, where they gained strong competences in quality assurance and communication within a company.

Simon Cloetta Kristiansen earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.Sc.) in Mathematical Modelling and Computation from DTU - Technical University of Denmark from 2004 to 2007. Simon Cloetta then pursued a Master of Science in Civil Engineering (M.Sc.) in Mathematical Modelling and Computation, with a focus on Operations Research for Decision Making, at the same institution from 2008 to 2010. Simon Cloetta furthered their education by completing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Operations Research at DTU - Technical University of Denmark from 2010 to 2013.

In addition, they obtained several certifications from Microsoft. In 2014, they completed the certification for Web Applications Development with Microsoft .NET Framework. In 2019, they achieved the AZ-300 Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies certification. Their most recent certification, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, was obtained in May 2020.
