Vince Conrad

Chief Of Training And Professional Development at Halifax Regional Municipality

Vince Conrad has extensive work experience in the field of firefighting and emergency services. Vince currently holds the position of Division Chief of Training at Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency since July 2019. Prior to this, they served as the Chief of Training and Professional Development at Halifax Regional Municipality. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team of 12 training officers and one education specialist in developing and delivering training programs for both career and volunteer firefighters. Vince also acted as a subject matter expert in various areas such as recruit training, firefighting strategy and tactics, fire behavior, vehicle extrication, and officer development. In addition, they worked as an Operations Supervisor during their tenure at Halifax Regional Municipality.

Vince Conrad attended Dalhousie University from 2000 to 2010, where they obtained a Fire Services Administration Certificate in Fire Services Administration. Vince later enrolled at Columbia Southern University from 2008 to 2015, majoring in Fire Science. In 2014, Vince attended the Justice Institute of British Columbia, completing a program in Officer Development with a focus on Fire Service Instructor II and Incident Safety Officer. Additionally, they also completed Fire Office I and II at the University of Maryland Global Campus in the same year. Prior to this, Vince obtained a Diploma in Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University in 2010. In 1998, they also earned a Leadership in Fire Service Certificate in Fire Services Administration from Dalhousie University.
